Job Allen (Jane's father) was the builder of the first Presbyterian Church there and was a contributor to the community as well as the Beach Family.
Job Allen Beach was married first to: Susannah "Susan" Hathaway, b. 12 Oct 1780, daughter of Capt Silas Hathaway and Prudence Baldwin. They had 10 children before she died on 06 Dec 1822.
All but one of their children were born in Morris County, New Jersey. Sometime between 1816 and 1819 they migrated to Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana, where their last daughter Elizabeth was born.
In 1824 he secondly married Judith C Connelly, in Logan, Dearborn County, Indiana. But she had family who had land in Sangamon County, Illinois. So after 1830, they migrated to Springfield, Illinois where Job acquired 10 acres of land in the SW Quarter of section 4, in Twp 16 North, Range 5 West. In the 1830 census, they were living in Kelso, Indiana but by 1840, they were established in Springfield.
Job and Judith also had 10 children as well between 1824 and 1836.
In the 1840 census there were 5 males and 4 females living in their household.
There are no further Church records for Job, but the family was traditionally Presbyterian. There is also no evidence that Job was buried in a public cemetery, and the land he owned is now part of the Springfield Airport grounds.
It is assumed that he and Judith were buried somewhere on his land.
