THELMA LAVERNE RUTHERFORD SIMPSON, 79, of Duncan, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, in Duncan.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Phil Ware officiating. Interment will be in Marlow City Cemetery.
Thelma was born July 4, 1927, in Hominy, to John and Cora Roe Rutherford. She married James R. Simpson on May 10, 1946, in Hominy.
She was a homemaker and had worked in various secretarial capacities for several different businesses.
She was a member of Gamma Upsilon Sorority, a volunteer at Duncan Regional Hospital gift shop, and an avid bridge player. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
She loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, James of the home; two daughters and their spouses, Cheryl and Ray Gordon of Oklahoma City, and Cynthia and Johnny Matlock of Tuttle; a sister and her husband, Shirley and Jack Watts of Pawhuska; four grandchildren, Michele Lange, Chris Gordon, Greg Matlock and Blake Gordon; and five great-grandchildren, Kendra Lange, Braden Lange, Gracey Matlock, Kelsey Matlock and Mason Lange.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Bearers will be Chris Gordon, Blake Gordon, Greg Matlock and Brad Lange.
