Susan Norton was the daughter of John Norton (1749-1822) and Susannah Barbara Henckel (1757-1826), who married c1775 in presumably Pennsyvlvania.

Susan married James Rothrock (1782-1853) on 10 Feb 1807 at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Susan and James were the parents of seven known children, namely:

1. Julia Ann Rothrock (1808-1891)
2. John Norton Rothrock (1811-1811)
3. Elizabeth Rothrock (1813-???)
4. Anna Maria Rothrock (1815-1893)
5. Harriett Rothrock (1817-???)
6. William Pettit Rothrock (1820-1903)
7. Reuben Wesley Rothrock (1829-???)

James was a fur trader and hatter at Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania. In the 1820 census the family is listed with 7 children and in the 1830 with 8 children. Thus there is probably a missing child. In 1840 there were five children listed. In 1850 James and wife Susan were living with John W. Rothrock (age 21, a tailor) at Bellefonte, Paris 164, Centre County, Pennsylvania. Who was John? He probably wasn't the son Reuben, as Reuben had moved west previously.

Links to Susan's husband and three of her seven known children are included below.
