Mrs. Frank died Friday, Oct. 29, 1993, at home.

The former Lois Sellmer was born May 26, 1910, in Moline, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Sellmer. She married the late James D. Coleman. She married Morris Frank, the first American to use a Seeing Eye dog, in 1942, in Morristown; he died in 1980.

A movie was made about her life with Mr. Frank. It was a 1984 Disney film entitled "Love Leads the Way," in which Glynnis O'Connor played Mrs. Frank. The couple helped open doors of restaurants, hotels and public transportation across the country to blind people accompanied by guide dogs. After her husband's death, she continued to attend Seeing Eye functions and served as an unofficial oral historian.

Mrs. Frank was educated in Moline schools and attended the University of Chicago.

She was municipal clerk of Mendham Township for 25 years.
