The Cadiz Record obit posted 16 Apr 1970 reads as follows:

Grover Cleveland Towler, Sr., age 77, a retired Trigg County farmer, died Thursday, April 9, at 4:45 pm, at Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville. He had been ill for the past three months and had recently undergone surgery at the Hopkinsville hospital.

A native of Trigg County, Mr. Towler was born January 7, 1893, a son of the late James Madison and Adeline Stewart Towler. He was married August 30, 1917, to the former Kate Bagby, and she survives.

Mr. Towler was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.

Services were held at 2 pm Sunday, April 12, at the Goodwin Funeral Home. His pastor, the Rev. Clint Adams officiated the last rites. The choir of Buffalo Baptist Church and Mrs. Carl Hendricks, pianist, had charge of the music service.

Burial was in the Stewart Cemetery near Buffalo.

In addition to his wife, Mrs. Kate B Towler, he is survived by two sons, Grover C Towler, Jr., Elizabethtown; and J M Towler, Trigg County; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Cumbee, Chicago, Ill.; and Mrs. Andrew Oakley, Trigg County; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bruce Oakley, Grover James Oakley, Jimmy Towler, Norris Cumbee, Johnny Hall and Clifford Hunt.

Members of Buffalo Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
