Marie Teresa De Lorenzo, age 93, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017.

She was the daughter of John and Anna (nee Likovic) Evetz and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School.

Marie worked at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center as a receptionist and later in the business office. In retirement, she was a volunteer with the St. Joseph Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary.

Marie loved to play pinochle and belonged to a group which played every other Wednesday for many years. She also loved to bake and will be remembered for her delicious cookies, cakes and pies.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 70 years, Arthur J. De Lorenzo; one daughter, Nina (Larry) Tapella of Joliet; two grandchildren, Anne (Nick) Lundin of Iron River, MI and Mark (Nahrain) Tapella of Naperville; five great grandchildren, Carolyn, Nathan and Abel Lundin and Sophia Marie and Isabella Grace Tapella; and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to recognize Catherine Kostelc, Robert Legner, and Andy Honiotes who were very dear friends of Marie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six sisters.

A Memorial Mass for Marie De Lorenzo will be celebrated Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Avenue, Joliet, where a visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be private.
