JOHN SCHROCK

John Stephen Schrock went to his Heavenly home surrounded by his family and friends at 9:05 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 after a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. A resident of Loogootee, he was 52.

He was born December 10, 1964 in Washington; son of Jonas and the late Anna (Yoder) Schrock.

He was the Pastor of Mt. Joy Mennonite Church and was ordained a pastor December 5, 1999 and a bishop May 12, 2002.

He loved camping with his family, collecting iron skillets, antique shopping and traveling. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and was looking forward to meeting his new grandson, who will arrive in July.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna (Yoder) Schrock.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie (Lengacher) Schrock, whom he married August 22, 1986; children, Melissa (Luke) Graber, Jevon (Rose) Schrock, Charity Schrock and Joseph Schrock, all of Loogootee; grandchildren, Lincoln Graber and Jasmine Schrock; father, Jonas Schrock of Elnora; siblings, Mary Esther Schrock and Olen (Juanita) Schrock, both of Elnora, Emma Arlene (Luke) Rhodes of Newberry, Thomas (Fae) Schrock of Elnora and Marvin (Pam) Schrock of Alaska; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Simon and Lydia Lengacher of Loogootee.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 9 at the Simon J. Graber Complex. Burial followed in Mt. Joy Cemetery.
