Jesse Leonard Price was born in Mississippi on April 20, 1881. He and his parents came to this section of the state when he was a small child. He married Della Jane Bradshaw in 1904. Soon after their marriage J. Leonard was converted and joined the Baptist Church at Concord, near Coolidge and was a member of the Coolidge Baptist Church at the time of his death on December 18, 1936. He was the father of four children: Lester, Lorene, Thelbert, and Deuel. During his life he was the manager of the cotton gin where he worked in Datura, Coolidge, and surrounding communities. He was also a master carpenter and helped build many structures in the Coolidge area.
