1Lt Richard Tenney Gray (KIA)He was 23 and single when he died. Lieutenant Gray was a Nail Forward Air Controller assigned to the 23rd Tactical Air Support Squadron at Nakhon Phanom RTAFB Thailand.

He was shot down over Cambodia in an OV-10A S/N unknown, which was the last OV-10 lost in the war.

A Bronco Nail FAC crashed on take off from Phnom Penh Airport, Cambodia, for a mission over Cambodia, killing the pilot.

The OV-10 aircraft he was piloting crashed and exploded on takeoff from Nakhon Phanom.

- as a cadet, was an honor student, the outstanding student in the Latin American area, and made the Superintendent, Dean, and Commandant's Merit Lists several semesters
- the Memorial Scholarship was named the 1st Lt. Richard T. Gray Scholarship for 1981
- the Fencing Team Captain's Award was dedicated to his memory for five years after his death
- had been the Fencing Captain at the Academy and won the 1970 Western Intercollegiate Fencing Champions award as a member of the Èpèe Team
