Linda G. (Boyd) Cortwright, passed away Monday morning, May 8, 2017, at I. U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Indiana following a short, unexpected illness.
She was born September 22, 1952, in Guyman, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lloyd and Oneida (Ahart) Boyd. Linda attended Murry State University. She retired after several years as sales manager with Quaker State Oil Company. Linda loved tending to her flowers, actively participating in her book club, and volunteering with both Minnetrista and Civic. Above all she was a devoted caregiver, defined by her strength, loyalty, and love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Cortwright; father, Lloyd E. Boyd; and a step-daughter, Michele Cortwright Sallee.
Survivors are her daughter, Angela D. Cortwright, New York; her mother, Oneida A. Boyd; her close cousin, Barbara Brown (husband Dennis) Goodwin, Asheville, North Carolina; step-grandchildren, Takara Sallee Krill, Paul Sallee, Jr., Thornn Tedder; and loving family, caretaker and friend, Miranda King, and her beloved granddog, Mr. Macy Max.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2015, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call at Elm Ridge Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
