She was born December 25, 1897 in Fremont, Wayne County, Utah a daughter of Joseph Henry and Clara Bell Shiner Ellett. Her early education was in the Wayne County Schools, and she later attended B.Y.U. She was active in Sunday School and Primary work as long as her health permitted.
She was married to Wilford J. Rees December 18, 1930 in the Manti Temple. She had resided in Smithfield since 1931.
