Margaret Diana Beam Wright, 77, was received unto our Heavenly Father's loving care and keeping on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

She was born on September 27, 1936, in Shelby, to the late Earnest Evans Beam and Esther Allen Beam. She was retired from Shadowline, Inc. and was a member Friendship United Methodist Church where she was the pianist for many years. She also taught the youth Sunday school class for a number of years and directed the children's choir and accompanied them on the piano. Diana also was a member of the choir for many years. She also received great joy from playing the piano and organ duets with the organist at Friendship. Music was her gift and she loved sharing it with others.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Aaron A. "Bud" Wright; two daughters, Georgiana Wright and Lisa Wright both of Fallston; four sisters. Mary Leigh, Iris Rose, Gail Humphries and husband Dwight all of Shelby, and Eloise Evans and husband Steve of Canton; brother, Wayne Beam and wife Iris of Shelby; sister-in-law, LaVerne Wright of Fallston; two brother-in-laws, Hugh Wright and wife Violet and Winslow Wright and wife Edna both of Shelby.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Bevill officiating. The burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
