Mary, the third child of Robert and Ann Sturgeon, was born October 6, 1839, at Lloydsville, Belmont County, Ohio, and died April 28, 1823 [1923?], at the home of her son Jeremiah, in Yorkville, Ohio, and was buried at New Athens, Ohio. She was married to Thomas Welch, March 4, 1863, who died november 29, 1922, at the age of 90 years, 11 months, 5 days. They had four sons and two daughters, of whom three have survived their parents: Jerry S., at Yorksville, Ohio; James F., at Bridgeport, ohio, and Mrs. Leslie M. English, at Wheeling, West Virginia.
