Heather Lynn Vliet, 43, of Barton City, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home.
Born July 14, 1973 to James and Patricia (McDonald) Gassman in Bay City, MI, she was raised there. On February 25, 2000, she married David Vliet in Bay City. She moved to Barton City in 2011, where she worked at the B.C. General Store. Heather was a member and Conductor of the Barton City Eagles Club Aerie 4141, where she was active in the backpack program. She loved her garden, and enjoyed cooking and canning. Heather liked to feed the birds, hunting, and fishing.
Heather is survived by her husband David, two daughters, Brooke Marie Born of Bay City and Dianna Rose Vliet of Barton City, one stepdaughter, Whitley Jean Vliet of Clio, two stepsons, Kyle David Vliet, and David Lee Vliet Jr. of Barton City, seven grandchildren, Liberty Mae Lynn Pfau, Novalee Diane Born; Brayden Michael King; Maverick James Acosta; Greyson Joseph Vliet; Landon David Vliet; and Mercy Marie Vliet, five sisters, Cathy (James) Ballard; Penny McDonald; Kelly McDonald; Julie Brewster; and Jamie (Russ) Sharon all of Bay City, as well as 16 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Vliet is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, where friends may call on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, with a meal to follow at the Barton City Eagles Club.

*Heather was also preceded in death by her infant son Mason Vliet.

For those of you who can't make it to the funeral/showing up north in Barton City for my sister Heather Vliet, we will be having a memorial/celebration of life service here in Bay City at New Testament Bethel Church 1215 leng st from 1 to 4 service starts at 3pm. This will be for all friends and family that would like to come pay there condolences that can't make it to the funeral / showing in Barton City. We will be having Finger Foods and snacks.
