Son of James and Violet Lawson Henderson. Logan's brothers include Major James Henderson and Col. James Henderson, who was killed at the Battle of New Orleans.

Married Margaret Ewart Johnston. The couple had four children: Frank, Violet, James and Jane.

The family came to Rutherford County in 1816. Margaret's father, Col. James Johnston of North Carolina, had bequeathed his daughter part of his 3,000 acre land grant in Rutherford County. They built Henderson Plantation (called Farmington) on this property and lived here until their deaths. The house was utilized as a hospital for both Federals and Confederates over the course of the Civil War.

Mr. Henderson was a Rutherford County judge from 1828-1830 and highly respected. The 1837 Tax list for District 18, Rutherford Co., indicates Logan Henderson paid taxes on 1033 acres and 22 slaves. The 1840 Census counted 51 slaves (including children).

Logan Henderson died at the age of 62, after a brief illness. He left the Henderson plantation to his son, James, according to his LW&T.
