Erma “Sue” Loper Allsup, age 93, went home to be with her Lord in Heaven, Friday, May 05, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
Erma Sue was born May 19, 1923 in Oak Grove, TX at home near Atlanta, TX to Frank Earl and Mary Catherine Owens Loper.
She attended High School at Kildare High School where she was a basketball player.
On October 24, 1942, she married David Brice Allsup at Bryans Mill.
Erma Sue was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, so what better choice could she make than to be the owner and seamstress of Sue’s Fabric for 24 years. She made uniforms for the Ranger Jr. College girl’s basketball team and quilts for her precious grandchildren.
She was also very active in the community. She served for 21years in the TX Extension Education Association, 58 year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a member of the Methodist Women, and a member of the Garden Club.
Erma Sue is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband David. She is also preceded in death by her son, David Orle Allsup and a daughter Brenda Elaine, brothers: Carl Loper, Otis Loper, Frank Loper, Billy Loper and Ralph Loper and a sister, Mary Alice.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Owen of Arlington, TX, a brother Charles Loper and wife Sharon of Hollywood, CA, sisters: Pauline Carnation of Texarkana, AR, Jessie Mae Brown and husband Bobby of Carrolton, TX, and the loves of her life – five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren and a special mention of the brother-in-law who was more like a brother and best friend, Keith Allsup of Douglassville, TX.
