Age 74, of Carbon Hill, IL, formerly of Wilmington, IL and Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 at Walnut Grove Nursing Home in Morris, IL. Born August 27, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, MO to the late Theodore W. and Mabel M. (nee Burke) Bock. Phil was a supervisor at Caterpillar, Inc. in Joliet for 34 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria D. (nee Novy), whom he married July 8, 1951 in Wilmington; three sons, Kelly Bock of Wichita, KS, Keith Bock of Grandview, MO and Kirby (Elizabeth) Bock of Lee's Summit, MO; two daughters, Kathleen (Greg) Hill of Morris, IL and Kristie (Jeff) Griffiths of Braidwood, IL; one daughter-in-law, Amy Bock of Blue Springs, MO; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don (Darlene) Bock of St. Joseph, IL, and Barry (Joyce) Bock of Little Rock, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by one son, Kevin Bock.

Funeral services will be at the R. W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. The visitation will be Monday, February 12, from 3-8 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Inurnment will be at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date. Memorials in his name to Walnut Grove Nursing Home, Joliet Area Community Hospice or American Diabetes Society would be appreciated.
