January 24th, 1880, Miss ANNIE E. BRAGUNIER, aged 19 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Oh, gently raise the snowy mantle,
Let us see her face;
It will lift from oft our bosoms
Tears of Sorrow, grief and pain.
Let us see the form that loved us,
In this dreary world of care,
For her soul dwells far above us,
In yon starry heaven there.
Oh, lay her softly and gently,
Down within the cold, damp ground,
That she there may sweetly slumber
Till the angels trump shall sound.
Touch her gently, move her softly,
She was tender, warm and true.
And from off that shining eye lash,
Dropped the tears as pure as dew.
Would that we were with thee, darling,
In thy flight far, far above,
In that home of joy and gladness,
In the Celestial City above.
