On November 18, 1997, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend returned to our Heavenly Father and is with her many loved ones who have gone before.

She was born in Colonia Juarez, Mexico on November 5, 1918 to Theodore H. and Josephine Thurston Martineau. Married June 15, 1936 to Fred Duke Whitaker in the Salt Lake Temple for time and eternity. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as by her beloved Freddy, who died in November, 1973. She later married Marcus Johnson and finally Oscar Hansen, each of whom also preceded her death.

She and Fred are parents of six children, Carolyn (Morris) Adams of St. George, Utah; Sheldon (Karren) Whitaker of Draper, Utah; Paul (Carol) Whitaker of Lower Lake, California; Ralph (Ramona) Whitaker of South Jordan, Utah; Evan (Ann) Whitaker of Provo, Utah; and Lindsay Whitaker of Provo, Utah; as well as 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She also had a great love for and was loved by the children of Marcus and Oscar and their families.

Mom, your sweet spirit has brightened our lives and we will miss you greatly, but we are happy that you are now free of the physical pain and illness that was so much a part of your life this last while.
