Dora Helen (Souza) Contrades, widow of Joseph Kaohimaunu Contrades Jr., passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006. A homemaker, she was born Oct. 12, 1913, in Moloa'a, Kaua'i.

She is survived by four sons: Stanley, Maurice, Thomas (Jacqueline) and Robert and hanai son Robert N. Mansfield of O'ahu; six daughters: Patricia Happek, Monica Contrades, Susan (Dennis) Brooks, Therese Staszkow, Annette (Steven) Manaday, and Lisa Curtin; sister Emily Piper of Arizona and sister-in-law Juanita (Contrades) Thomas of Honolulu; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at St. Catherine Church in Kapa'a on Saturday, Jan. 21, visitation from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Mass from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with interment immediately following at St. Catherine Cemetery.

The family requests that flowers be omitted. Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
