Aledo friends have been advised of the death in Omaha, Neb., of Edward Byers. He was 40 years of age and spent his boyhood in Aledo. He was a son of the late A. M. Byers, founder of the Farmers' National bank of Aledo. The elder Byers died in California a year ago.
The body will arrive in Aledo tomorrow morning and funeral services will be held at the Murphy undertaking parlors at 10 o'clock, With Rev. A. Judson Arrick, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, in charge. Mr. Byers is survived by a sister, Mrs. Olive Hayes of St. Louis. It is expected that Mr. and Mrs. Hayes will accompany the body to Aledo.

Funeral services were held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock for Edward Byers, who passed away following an attack of diphtheria last week at his home in Omaha, Neb. The services were held at the Murphy undertaking parlors, Rev. Judson Arrick of the First Presbyterian church of Aledo officiating. Mr. Byers was about 40 years of age and lived in Aledo until he was a young man. His father, who passed away last year, was the founder of the Farmers' National bank of Aledo and during his residence here was one of the most prominent citizens of Mercer county. The deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Olive Hays of St. Louis, Mo. Interment was made in the Aledo cemetery.
