After 78 years of a life well lived Cora Lynn Malpass went home to be with her Lord on May 1, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born to Joseph C. and Frankie Mae Thomas in Throckmorton, TX on November 22, 1938. She graduated from Throckmorton High School in 1957 and attended the University of North Texas briefly before meeting the love of her life William F. Malpass. William and Cora were married on December 17, 1961 and were married for 47 wonderful years before his passing in 2009. Cora worked as a secretary for Dr. Morgan and Dr. Bailey and also worked as an Admitting Clerk at St. Anthony Hospital. She was an avid square dancer, an active member in h er church, and was a lifelong devoted Christian. She enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboys and the University of Texas Football, as well as the Oklahoma City Thunder. She was preceded in death by her husband William, both parents, and one brother, Joe Ray Thomas. Cora is survived by her children, Lisa Barber and her husband Bret, and William C. Malpass and his wife Hollie; grandchildren, Jordan Beikmann and husband Eric, and Christopher Malpass; and great grandchildren, Autry Beikmann and Jhett Beikmann. Services to celebrate Cora’s life will be held 10:00 am Friday, May 5, 2017 at First Baptist Church Newcastle with interment to follow at 3:00 PM at Throckmorton Cemetery in Throckmorton, TX. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Oklahoma State Firefighters Museum, 2716 NE 50th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73111.
