Born May 31, 1947 in Augusta, Georgia to parents John Wesley and Elizabeth Dennis Patterson, he had lived the past 20 years in Auburn. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp having done his tour of duty in Vietnam. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Gold Miners Club of Dahlonega.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Blake Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 in the Dahlonega Funeral Home Chapel. Full military honors will be provided by the White County Honor Guard. Interment will follow in the New Liberty United Methodist Cemetery in Braselton.
