ARMA -- Gayhardt "Gay" Huber, 80, of Arma, died at 8:38 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2000, at the Girard District Hospital.

He was born Oct. 30, 1919, at Ellis, to John and Jenny Huber Huber.

He was raised at Ellis and graduated from Ellis High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

He married Edith G. Bowen on Nov. 6, 1943, in Minnesota. She preceded him in death Feb. 2, 1972.

He married Natalie Viano Galichia on June 17, 1977 at Arma. She survives of the home.

He was a retired farmer and carpenter and member of the Arma United Methodist Church, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the VFW at Pittsburg.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Brenda Coulter, of Owasso, Okla., and Mary Zimmerman, of Carthage, Mo.; a son, Bradley Huber, of Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; two step-daughters, Sharon Brandenburg, of Parsons and Mary Carol Pomatto, of Pittsburg; a step-son, Dr. Joseph Galichia, of Wichita; four sisters, Wilma Doyle, of Georgia; Alma Armbrister, of Ellis; Darlene Sutter, of Colorado and Alberta Helget, of Hays; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Thomas, David, and Gordon Huber; six sisters, and four brothers.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Arma United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating.

Burial will be in the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bedene Funeral Home of Arma.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
