Josephine Tecchio (nee Salvatore), 92, a proud resident of Jersey City, Marion Section, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Josephine was born in Montemiletto, Italy and immigrated to Hoboken in 1928 before moving to Jersey City. She was a retired sales associate for Pink & Blue Children's Clothing, Jersey City.
A devout parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City, Josephine was a eucharistic minister and member of the rosarians. She was a long time president of the 50 Plus Club and always sold the nightly 50/50 raffle at the annual feast. Josephine loved to cook and bake for family gatherings and instill family traditions.
Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Sam Tecchio; Devoted mother of Susan Andrisani, Marilyn & Sonny Tullo and Sam Tecchio; Dear sister of Joseph & Annette Salvatore and the late Connie Beatty and Dolores Salvatore and sister-in-law of Rose and Norma Tecchio; Loving grandmother of Anthony & Robin Tullo, Jarrod & Jessica Andrisani, Jessica & JP Monaco, Sammy Tecchio & fiance Aimee and Justin Tecchio; Cherished great-grandmother of Gianna and Luca Andrisani, Anthony and Mia Tullo and Giancarlo Monaco. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 1, 2017, 4:00pm to 8:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company. Funeral will begin on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 10:00am at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will follow 11:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
