MARY LlOYD KEY-GILMOR-BOYLAN was born circa 1848 in Maryland to Philip Barton Key & Ellen Swan-Key. She was the granddaughter of Francis Scott Key, the lawyer & poet who wrote The Star Spangled Banner.

Mary first married William Gilmor, and they had THREE children of record:
Francis "Frank" Key Gilmor (1875 - 1935),
John Gilmor (1879 - 1928), and
William Lloyd Gilmor (1886 - 1956).

Mary became a widow in November of 1904 after William passed away, and Mary was remarried after 1910 to George Halstead Boylan; no issue of record by this marriage.
Per the Baltimore American published Friday, June 16, 1911: Mrs. Mary Key Gilmor, granddaughter of Francis Scott Key was married yesterday afternoon to Dr. George Halsted Boylan, a prominent physician and specialist of Cincinnati and Baltimore.

Mary became a widow again in January of 1919, and she passed away 15 years later on 20 May 1934 in Baltimore City, Maryland, and she was laid to rest at Green Mount Cemetery.
