Ermal P. Amstutz, 87, Berne passed away on April 27, 2017 at Swiss Village where she was a resident. She was born to Ed and Viola Lawrence Hone on January 7, 1930. She was married to Sherman McCourt(1965) and later to Valier Amstutz(2006), both deceased.


Preceding in death are her parents, husbands, brothers, Carl, Frank, George Hone, sisters Doris Snyder, Inez Goings and Elaine Zizelman.

Funeral services are Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Missionary Church, Berne with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation also Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is Pastor James Schwartz. Burial s in the Swamp College Cemetery, rural Celina.

Preferred memorials are to the Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis &/or Family Life Care.

Ermal was a member of the First Missionary Church and was an elementary teacher in the Ft. Recovery Schools in Ohio for 31 years. Her interests include reading and working crossword puzzles. She especially loved her family and grandkids.

Survivors include daughters, Betsy Gray of Berne, Janell(Joe)Schwartz of Berne and sons, Randy(Kendra)Amstutz of Berne, Brice(Kelly)Amstutz of Berne, sisters, Mary Boroff of Mercer, OH, Barabara Thees of Celina, brother, John Hone of Fla. and several grand and great-grandchildren.
