As an active member of the Baptist Church she spent many years teaching Sunday school. One of her greatest joys was the Saints Alive Group at Metropolitan Church. She was an active member of Lady's Auxiliary of the Carpenters Union Local 214. Merle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Charles Henry Kunz. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Abel and husband Henry, and Charlene Godwin and husband Jim; grandchildren, Marci and Mark Abel, and Michal and David Godwin.
