Hazel was born in Kickapoo, Limestone County, Texas on July 25, 1919 to Thomas V. and Mary Mae Boyd Guthrie. She has been a resident of Mexia for over 63 years. She was a retired restaurant manager.
Hazel married, the love of her life, Hubert David Price, on September 15, 1936 in Tehuacana, Texas; they were blessed with four children, Wayne, Vonnah, Ricky and Regina. She devoted her life to her family and serving God. Hazel loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family, especially during the holidays. She was a longtime active member of the Northcrest Church of Christ.
During her leisure time, she was fascinated with red birds and thoroughly enjoyed watching them. Hazel was blessed with many wonderful, healthy and happy years, she will be truly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Hubert Price; son, Wayne D. Price; brothers, Henry, Eugene and Lester Guthrie; and sister, Kate Carter.
Hazel is survived by her loving children, Vonnah Hawkins and husband, James of Clyde, TX, Ricky Price and wife, Teresa of Kapolei, HI and Regina Eckert and husband, Paul of Lake Mexia; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Children"s Hospital.
