"Ten days after [they were married] (June 6) they set sail for Bombay, India. They anchored in Calcutta harbor Sept. 21, where they stayed one month and then proceeded to Bombay, where they arrived Nov. 28, and at once entered upon their missionary work. After a time her health failed, but she recovered and resumed work with unfaltering zeal. On the morning of Feb. 5, 1831, at 6:30 she gave birth to a son, with no apparent signs of serious consequences. An unforeseen change soon occurred and she died three hours later. Her funeral was held at 5 P.M. the same day."
