Mrs. Margie Burgin Lang went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 11, 2005.

She was born on November 15, 1920, in Carrollton, AL., graduated from Carrollton High School and received a music degree from the University of Montevallo in 1942. As a deeply committed Christian, she was the organist for the First Baptist Church of Biloxi for 26 years, played hand bells in the music ministry for 17 years and taught Sunday School for twenty years. She will also be remembered for the many years she taught young people piano in her home. Her husband of 62 years, Dr. Charles V. Lang, Jr., served 28 years in the US Air Force which afforded her the opportunity to live in a number of cities throughout the United States making numerous friends and developing new relationships. In 1969 she settled with her husband in Biloxi when he opened the Coast Animal Clinic in Ocean Springs, MS. She was an active member of the Mississippi Veterinary Wives Auxiliary for many years and served as president as well as in other leadership roles. She was involved in the Oak Park Garden Club for a number of years serving in various roles during that time. She thoroughly enjoyed opening her home to her many friends over the years.

Mrs. Lang was preceded in death by her son, Porter B. Lang, her parents, Merritt and Lillie Burgin, and four sisters, Emma Burgin, Irene Clements, Lillie Lou Pearson and Frances Lowery. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles V. Lang, Jr., of Biloxi, one brother, Bim Burgin of Birmingham, AL., two sons, Charles V. Lang III of Mobile, AL., and Philip T. Lang of Jackson, MS., a daughter, Frances I. Lang Ramsey of Virginia Beach, VA., eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
