Funeral services ere held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Bob Murphy, 77, who died Wednesday morning. Rev.Doyle Suits will officiate at the services at Whorton Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Whorton Springs Cemetery.
Mr.Murphy died at Van Hooser Clinic. He was ill only a few hours prior to his death.
A blacksmith, he had lived in Smithville for many years.He was a native of Cannon County.

He was proceded in death by his parents; James Adam and Mary Elizabeth Tennie Barrett Murphy,

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Willie Murphy; two sons; B.L.Murphy and T.D.Murphy both of Smithville. three daughters; Mrs. Wilma Farris, Mrs Alene Bandy and Mrs. Lula Mai Stephens of Smithville; brothers ; Willie Murphy and Richard Murphy both of Woodbury; sisters; Mrs.Becky Summers, Mrs.Cora Melton, Mrs. Ethel Underwood, Mrs Rosie Lee Davis and Mrs. Ethel Davis all of Woodbury.

Smithville Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
