MRS. T. GROTE TAKEN
BY DEATH IN SPOKANE
Word has been received in Kalispell of the death of Mrs. Thankfull (sic) Grote, age 92. Mrs. Grote died in Spokane Thursday.
She was a former resident of Kalispell, but for the past several years has been living in Spokane. She is survived by one son, Harold of Spokane, and two grandchildren, Miss Marriam Graham of Tillamook, Ore., and Glenn Grote of Spokane.
Mrs. Grote's body will arrive in Kalispell Sunday and will be taken to the Waggener & Campbell funeral home where funeral services have been set for Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment to follow in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.

SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. GROTE
Funeral services for Mrs. Thankfull Grote were held Monday afternoon at the Waggener & Campbell chapel with the Rev. M. E. Van de Mark of the Epworth Methodist church officiating.
Mrs. J. M. Carlson was organist during the services. Those acting as pallbearers were A. J. Shaw, Charles Denney, Walt D. Woods, Jack Curtis, Fred Fry and Harry W. Grambauer. Interment was in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.
Thankful Alden Grote was born November 15, 1858, in Vermont. She moved with her parents as a small child to Wisconsin where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Henry S. Grote in Wisconsin in 1884.
The family came to Wibeaux, Mont. in 1909 and homesteaded there. Mr. Grote passed away a year later. Mrs. Grote and her children came to Kalispell in 1920 and she remained here until 1942 when she moved to Spokane, Wash. She died in Spokane January 26 at the age of 92 years. Of five children born to Mrs. Grote, only one survives her, Harold Grote, of Spokane. There are also two grandchildren, Miss Mariam Graham of Tillimook, Ore., and Glenn Grote of Spokane, and six grandchildren (sic).

Daughter of Edward Anthony and Adelia (Wilson) Alden. She married Henry Snoden Grote 1 Oct 1876 in Grant Co., Wisconsin. They were the parents of four: Grace M., Clarence Henry, Floyd, and Harold G. Grote.
