Kay graduated from Derham Hall High School in St. Paul, MN. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Minnesota. She moved to Marin County in California in 1958 & lived there until her death.
Her ex husband was James John Lange. He went by Jim & hosted the television game show "The Dating Game".
She was survived by her son Nicolas "Nick" & his wife Sarah, her son Gavin, & her daughter Romney, & her two grandsons Brendan & Travis, the children of Nick & Sarah.
A memorial service for friends & family was held in her honor on May 4th, 2003 at the home of one of her sons.
