The funeral service for former Puryear resident Sarah Norwood Alexander of Warren, MI, will be at 11 am Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Gary S. Collier will officiate. Burial will follow in Foundry Hill Baptist Cemetery at Puryear.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Alexander, 80, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in Warren.
A daughter of the late James A. and Lena Redden Norwood, she was born Oct. 4, 1927, in Henry County.
She was married on July 7, 1946, to J.B. Alexander, who died Feb. 7, 1994.
Alexander was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. She formerly operated a nutrition center while living in Warren.
She also was a homemaker. Her favorite hobby was cooking and she enjoyed entertaining friends and family, according to a family member.
She leaves one daughter: Reanee Alexander Kalviniski of Warren; one son: Tony (Dottie) Alexander of Hanson, Ky.; two sisters: Lavern Throgmorton of Paris and Frances (Gilbert) Francisco of Detroit; two brothers: Clyde (Evelyn) Norwood and Carl Norwood, both of Paris;
A sister-in-law: Mary Belle Norwood of Paris; five grandchildren: Kelli (Leon) Rivera, Korri (Al) Tanzini, Matthew (Cindy) Alexander, Michael (Theresa) Alexander and Adam Alexander; six great-grandchildren: Brent and Elise Alexander, Morgan Goletz, Joey and Ashley Tanzini and Sophi Ravera; and several nieces and nephews, who live in Henry County.
She also was preceded in death by four sisters: Jewel Bomar, Mable and Annie Lou Muzzall and Estelle Norwood in infancy; and four brothers: Jessie Norwood in infancy and Lester, Douglas and Freeman Norwood.
