Born Thomas Jonathan Capehart he was renamed by his toddling first grandchild as Bam Bam and there wasn't anyone who called him otherwise. Bam Bam was a true character! He loved to cut up, play jokes, and tell stories just to watch your reaction. Quick to join the computer age his email stories to family and friends are legendary. His stories were a tapestry of antics, adventures and the photo shopped evidence to prove it! His readers rolled in laughter at a writer who took a helicopter to Alaska, braved snakes in the tool shed but couldn't get himself out of the bathroom toilet paper debacle.

Bam Bam loved socializing with friends and family. He would organize kite days, fish fries, family reunions, snow cone runs and pretty much anything that would create a gathering of people. Most of his grandchildren can recall at least one "road trip" where spontaneously Bam Bam would load up whoever was willing to go and take off to see what adventures they could find. Nieces, nephews and cousins remember "following Tom into the wilds of Texas and ending up at the neatest places." His mischievous spirit often led to the best of times.

He loved to try new things and became quite the cake decorator, candy maker, model airplane collector and photographer.

He was an amazing man who will be deeply missed.

Preceding his death were all of his siblings, Ardell Capehart, Eldred Capehart, Burford Capehart, Ora Lee Jones, his wife Joyce Capehart, his youngest daughter Cynthia Hoyt, his son in laws Leonard Hoyt, and Danny Bazemore, and his granddaughter Christy Apple.

Bam Bam is survived by his daughters Carol Bazemore of Manchaca, Jeanette Nelson of Buda, his son Thomas Capehart and his wife, Noreta of Fayetteville Texas, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
