SHELBURNE - Charlotte B. ValPreda, 85, of Shelburne, and a former resident of Rutland and Lake Bomoseen, February 14, 2006, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born on June 14, 1920, in Clarendon, the daughter of Mildred Clayton and Clarence P. Barlow Sr.
Mrs. ValPreda graduated from Rutland High School. She received her degree in music and drama from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA.
She was a private piano teacher for many years.
Mrs. ValPreda was a member of the Airoc Court 42 of Rutland where she had served as the high priestess in 1964.
Survivors include a daughter,a son, her stepmother,six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren,several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter ValPreda, on August 14, 1995; and a brother, Clarence Barlow Jr. on February 5, 2005.
Burial will be at a later date in the East Clarendon Cemetery.
