Adam was born January 16, 1923, at Streeter, North Dakota, to John and Barbara (Schaffer) Dockter. He was raised and educated near Streeter. He married LaVerne Perman on April 14, 1942. He was a rancher and business owner his whole life. His lifelong hobby was music and he was an accomplished accordion player.
He is survived by his five daughters, Norma Mosset, Bismarck, Peggy Johnson, Mandan, Gloria Bickley, Rancho Cucamonga, California, Sandy Lewis, and Debbie Dockter, both of Spokane, Washington; one son, Logan (Linda) Dockter, Mandan; sister, Rose (Percy) Horst, Bismarck; two brothers, Elmer (Virginia) Dockter, Bismarck, and Emil (Adeline) Dockter, Surprise, Arizona; 15 grandchildren, Kelly, Rachel, Tiffani, Jason, Lara, Jennifer, Ryan, BJ, Treeva, Stephani, Brandon, Cody, Jessica, Melissa, and Shelby; ten great-grandchildren, Jocel, Jaden, Xaviar, Xander, Seren,Rhys, Corbin, Logan, Ethan, Cohen, Harley, Huxley, and Koda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVerne; daughter, Colleen Kary; brothers, Adolf, and Art; and sister, Ann Davidson.
