Ruth Ann Barnes, 77, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Francis J. and Margaret J. (Irvine) Barnes.

Surviving are four nieces and nephews: Catherine B. (Bernard) Stapelfeld of Duncansville, Holly B. (Dennis) O'Connor of Hollidaysburg, Dr. Patrick C. (Mary) Barnes of Hollidaysburg and Dr. Michael F. (Beth) Barnes of Fraser, Colo.; and a longtime and dear friend, Robert "Pete" Suter of Huntingdon.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde F. Barnes, on Feb. 7, 2007.

Ruth Ann was a 1957 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She began work in the office of A&P Bakery and later became a teller at First National Bank. She retired from Citizen's Bank in 2001.

She was a member of St. John Reformed Church in Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and family gatherings. She was a loving aunt and will be sadly missed by her family.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at
11 a.m.
