Catherine J. McFayden was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada, November 13, 1855, and died near Palmer, April 20, 1922, aged 66 years, 5 months and 7 days.
She came to Boone County with her parents in 1873.
She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of St. Edward, which was organized in 1876, also a charter member of Bethlehem Chapter No. 183 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was its first Worthy Matron. For fifteen years she was County President of the W.C.T.U. of Boone County.
She was a resident of the town of St. Edwards for twenty-one years, but for the past two years had spent most of the time with her daughter Mrs. N. L. Penfield.
She is survived by one son, Arthur C. of Denver, and one daughter Mrs. N. L. Penfield of Palmer, also six brothers and one sister.
Brief services were conducted by the Oakdale Sunday School, funeral services were also held at St. Edwards, where interment was made.
