Ruth Bosen Smith, age 86, died Wednesday June 3, 1987 at the home of a son in Brigham City, of causes incident to age. Born August 30, 1900 in Ephraim, Utah, a daughter of Andrew Christian Bosen and Louisa C. Bosen.
She married Lafayette W. Smith on October 4, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 7, 1979.
She was a member of the LDS Church and had been active in the Relief Society and Primary organizations. She served a full time mission in England in 1962 and had also served a stake mission. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Surviving are two sons, and one daughter, Ronald L. Fontana, California; Allen G., Brigham City, Mrs. Leslie A. (Mona) Bell, North Salt Lake; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; also surviving are one brother and four sisters, Andrew C. Bosen, Preston, Idaho; Gladys Gunderson, Palms, California, Melva Wheeler, No. Salt Lake, Leora Hollingsworth, and Delora Berger, both of Salt Lake City.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery. Friends may call at Peterson Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South in Brigham at 9:30 a.m. until services.
