Youngest son of John Pickett and his third wife, Catherine Elizabeth Turner. Mr. Pickett married Beulah Thagard Feb. 21, 1893 in Crenshaw County. He was the father of Effie, Reidie, Mary, Jack, and Stephen.

[Obituary]
PICKETT-Stephen Augusta Pickett, died at his home at Pleasant Home, Sunday evening.It was
Steve's birth-day and his relatives and friends had gathered in and the day was spent
pleasantly.He was taken suddenly and died almost in the arms of his faithful wife
Mrs.Beaulah Pickett He said to his wife "Something has got me" and made for the
house,feeling his way.He was met by his wife who caught him and laid him down on the
gallery.He was dead,Steve was a useful citizen,a good husband and father.He is survived by
his wife,three daughters,Misses Ethel Belle,Reedy and Mary Pickett,and two sons,both
mere boys,Jack and Oliver Pickett.and other relatives,some of whom were not present
when he died.His remains were laid away at the Siloam cemetery by the Masonic Lodge
Tuesday at Pleasant Home. (The Luverne Journal-February 01,1917)and (Crenshaw
