Mrs. Sarah E. Schauf of 906 Broadway died yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock, of heart failure. She was born in McDonough county May 17 1855 and was 65 years old at her death.

She was the daughter of James Emory Fleming and Abigail Melvin Fleming. She had been ill for the last three years, when she suffered her first attack of heart trouble. She was a pioneer resident of Quincy, having lived here for forty-nine years.

She leaves, besides her husband William L. Schauf, six children: Marietta Schauf of Quincy; Mrs. B. F. Lukey of San Francisco; James H. Schauf of Oakley California; Frank E. Schauf of Quincy; Abby L. Shaw of New York City; and Joseph F. Schauf of Kansas City Missouri.

There is also one sister who survives: Mrs. I. N. Barrick of Kansas City [Missouri], and three grandchildren. Mrs. Schauf was a faithful member of the Congregational church. Definite plans for the funeral will not be made until relatives from distant points are heard from.
