Debra G. Guiteras, 63, of Papaikou, died April 8, 2017 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Morton Camp, Papaikou, she loved working with crafts, an expert lei maker, former 4-H and Brownie leader, former pitcher for the Papaikou Babes softball team, and a teacher’s aide for 29 years; she worked at Kapiolani, Laupahoehoe, and retired from Waiakea High School.

Visitation from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo; funeral service at 7 p.m. Graveside committal service and burial 12 noon, Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.

Survived by husband of 45 years, Anthony “Tony” Guiteras of Papaikou; children, Krista (Kaipo) Duncan of Kapolei, Oahu, Paul Guiteras of Papaikou, Timothy Guiteras of Hilo, Tabitha (Jeremy) Yadao of Panaewa; sisters, Lynette (Tom) Soares of Pepeekeo, Luane (Leigh) Landgraf of Kaumana; brothers, Randal (Debbie) Payao of Hilo, Robert (Faith) Payao of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
