Mary Stawski Germano, 92, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on April 11, 2017 in Bluffton, S.C. The daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes Stawski, she was born August 18, 1924 in New Britain, and remained in Connecticut for most of her life. Mary was employed by Connecticut Natural Gas Co. for 23 years until retirement in 1986. In 2013, she moved to South Carolina along with her two daughters.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas R. Germano, with whom she resided in New Britain and Southington. She leaves behind three children, Paula O'Meara and husband Philip of Bluffton, S.C.; Nancy Hall and husband Victor of Bluffton, S.C., and John T. Germano and wife Lindy of Glastonbury, Conn. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Bethany O'Meara and husband George McKie, Brian O'Meara, Corin Hall and husband Michael Mellen, Macey Hall, Michael Germano and wife Erin McDonnell, and Lauren Germano and husband Cory Ayotte. She was devoted to her family and played an active role in her grandchildren's lives. Mary was an avid reader, an excellent cook, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crochet.
