Mrs. Amelunke was born May 8, 1916, in Lindale, Texas to William H. and Louisa Elizabeth Baker. She was one of five children. She was reared and educated in Waco and received a B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1938. She married William H. Amelunke June 16, 1939. They lived in Fort Worth 1946 and 1947 and moved to Denison in 1948. They returned to Waco in 1964. She was preceded in death by her husband December 7, 1985.

Mrs. Amelunke was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, William Judson, James Preston, and Elwood Baker.

She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include sister, Ann L. Baker of Robinson; nieces, Jayne Solomon of Plano, Carolyn Eisen of Fort Worth, Ginger Green of Waco, Sharon Amelunke of Waco; nephew James A. Baker; sister-in-law, Janice Amelunke of Waco; and a dear friend Martha Rhye and her daughter, Nancy McWhirter of Waco.
