Howard Bostick, 75, of Lubbock, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8th, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Howard Allen Bostick was born June 3, 1931, to the late Jimmie Coleman and Mona Jewel (Harris) Bostick, in Wanette, Okla.
Howard attended school at Wanette from 1937 to 1943 then he moved to Shawnee, Okla., where he graduated from High School in 1950. He joined the US Navy in March of 1951, serving four years. After his discharge, he moved to Lubbock and took a job as a GM Parts man with Johnson-Connelly Pontiac in 1955. Howard joined the Lubbock Fire Department on Oct. 1, 1955 and made Lieutenant in 1967. He retired on Dec. 31, 1981. Howard was a Mason and was raised to Master Mason in June, 1957.
Howard married Mildred Woodson Davis on Aug. 5, 1955, in Ft. Sumner, N.M. She preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 2004. Also preceding him in death are two brothers, Darrell G. Bostick and Jimmy R. Bostick and two step daughters.
Howard is survived by three nieces, Darla, Cynthia and Jan; one nephew, Mike; two stepsons; several grandchildren; and special caregivers, Mickey and Wilma Key.
