WADE, John L. Wade, son of Robert and Sally Wade, was born in Franklin County, Virginia May 18, 1859, departed this life at his home near Gettysburg, Ohio Jan. 8, 1922, aged 62 years, 7 mos.,
and 21 days. He was united in marriage to Leanna S. Flora, Dec. 3, 1891, making their journey in life together a little over 30 years. This union was blessed with with 10 children - 5 sons and 5 daughters, also eight grandchildren, one of whom preceded him in death. He united with the Old German Baptist (Brethren) Church in the year 1886 and was elected to the ministry in the year 1891. His last illness was cancer of the stomach from which he suffered intensely at times, but he bore it without a murmur or complaint. He remembered the instructions of the Apostle James, called for the elders of the church, and on the 6th of Nov., 1921 was "anointed with oil in the name of the Lord." He was one of a family of 11 children. He leaves to mourn his departure, a kind and devoted wife, 10 children, 7 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral by the brethren in the Oak Grove Meeting House, Darke County, Ohio to large congregation of relatives and friends. Burial in Gettysburg cemetery. John F. Shaeffer
