He was born in Xenia, Ohio on December 07, 1933, to Forest and Helen (Howland) Abling. He enjoyed mechanics, woodworking, guitar-playing and outdoor activities, such as, gardening and camping and being a wonderful father, husband and grandfather.
Forest is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Palmer) Abling; three children: Angie (Ed) Lowe, Madeliene (Vicki) Abling and Forest Lee (Darla) Abling; 7 grandchildren: Whitney Maxson (Nate), Angie Greenon (Toby), Forest Layton Abling and Marvin Abling, Cannon Lowe and one brother, Charles Snell; step-children: Debbie, Joanne, David, Linda, Carl and families and many nieces and nephews.
Forest is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Fay (Vicars) Abling; parents, Forest and Helen Abling; brother, Earl Abling and sister, Betty Mahaffey.
Memorial service will be held on Friday April 14, 2017 at 12 Noon at Powers-Kell Funeral Home in Jamestown, Ohio, where friends may call one hour prior to service.
