Jane was born c12JUN1782 probably in Cumberland Twp., Greene County, Pennsylvania. She died 25APR1858 in Mallory Twp., Clayton County, Iowa.
She grew up on a farm near Carmichaels, Greene Co. PA and married in 1809 Jonas HUNT(1774.NJ-1839.WV). She and Jonas farmed in Greene Co. till they removed to another farm in nearby Monongalia County, Virginia(Now West Virginia).
Jonas died in 1839 and Jane followed her children to Clayton County, IA around 1850.

Her parents were James SEATON(1751-1830) & Mary CLARK(1758-1826) both buried in the Old SEATON Cemetery Carmichaels, Greene County, PA. James had served in the Revolution with the Washington County PA militia and he and Mary had survived numerous Indian raids into the area during the 1780's and 1790's although neighbors were casualties.
